Permanent Position

FAMILY OWNED CATtle property - Bow Park

100km north of Julia Creek.

We are seeking an EXPERIENCED COUPLE or an EXPERIENCED STATIONHAND

WITH A YOUNG FAMILY, to manage the day to day station duties on our 100 000 acre

cattle property.

 

Bow Park has  a carrying capacity of 6000 head (Beefmasters)

*In the instance of a stationhand with a young family being employed, we would employ an extra permanent man to help with station duties.

*If home schooling is required, Mt Isa School of the Air are a very friendly and supportive Distance Education school.   There are many families

in the district homeschooling through Mt Isa and there are various social events run by the school where the families can get together. 

It is a lovely environment and a great way to meet people.

 

The successful applicant/applicants would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Keeping maintenance up on vehicles and machinery

Maintaining buildings, fences, troughs, yards, tanks, pipes and irrigation.  

Mustering on motorbikes

We don't use dogs or horses for mustering

Other jobs would be fabricating various designs

Grading roads

Delving bore drains

Hay Making

Chemical woody weed control

Cooking for contractors when mustering

3 bedroom renovated, air conditioned house supplied

Above award wages

Normal day is 6.30am - 5pm 

Work agreement in place for both employees

Time off for social events by mutual agreementBow park Station 33

We live in the same homestead complex about 300m away

There is a fenced swimming pool/dam for everyone's use

You would also be responsible for looking after the house and garden which is established.

When we're away we would ask you to water our garden and vice versa.

 

Work Expectations

Work cattle quietly and efficiently with respect

All work vehicles be kept serviced, clean and tidy

Jobs undertaken are completed properly

The workshop is kept clean and tidy

Tools and consumables are returned to their respective places when not in use

 

Personal Expectation

Staff present a good work ethic and initiative at all times

Look after the accommodation and existing garden

Be punctual and work co-operatively with others

Dogs to be restrained when unsupervised

No animals allowed in the house

 

Julia Creek and district offers many social events throughout the year especially in winter months.

It's a good community to be part of.
